Next week, on May 16, the new film “Glare” by the famous director Valentin Vasyanovych will be released on Ukrainian screens. The world premiere of the film took place in September 2021 at the Venice Film Festival, where it was recognized by critics and the public.

“Glare” tells about the difficult fate of the military surgeon Serhii, who falls into Russian captivity. There he witnesses terrible crimes against Ukrainians, which deeply traumatizes him. After his release, Serhiy tries to return to a normal life, but the war left a deep mark on his soul.
The film explores themes of loss, pain, finding meaning in life, and the path to healing. Sergey tries to restore relations with his ex-wife and daughter, as well as find a new place in a world that has changed forever.
