Police officers from the “White Angels” unit died during the evacuation of civilians in the Kharkiv region

On February 20, two special forces officers of the “White Angels” unit, police officers, died while performing a mission to rescue civilians in the Kupyansk district of the Kharkiv region. Another law enforcement officer was injured. The National Police of Ukraine reported this.

The police were heading to evacuate the population. Near the village of Seredniy Burluk, the crew’s armored vehicle was hit by an enemy Lancet UAV. Two crew members were fatally wounded and died on the spot.

“Yulia Keleberda and Yevhen Kalgan joined the White Angels unit from the moment it was created. Behind their shoulders are numerous trips to the most dangerous settlements, dozens of rescued families, evacuated children, elderly people and people with disabilities. They repeatedly risked their own lives to save others. Unfortunately, this evacuation was their last,” the National Police reported, expressing condolences to the relatives and friends of the deceased.

23-year-old Yulia Keleberda is survived by her parents. 39-year-old Yevgeny Kalgan died, leaving behind his wife, mother, 16-year-old son, and 7-year-old daughter.

Russian military carries out targeted attacks on medical and evacuation vehicles, as well as civilians.

In the area of ​​the temporarily occupied village of Grabovske in Sumy region, on January 27, Russian military drones killed two civilians during an evacuation attempt. A man and a woman were trying to leave the occupied territory on their own to a safe place. Their route was known to the Ukrainian military, who coordinated the evacuation.

Russian FPV drone operators deliberately attacked unarmed people. The first strike was on a woman, who died instantly. The second was on a wounded man who was next to the body of the deceased.
