A new stage of psychological support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine has begun

In October this year, the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched a new phase of a project aimed at psychological rehabilitation and strengthening the psychological resilience of the Defence Forces. According to the General Staff, this project is being implemented with the support of NATO’s Human Centred Approach Programme as part of the Comprehensive Assistance Package for Ukraine (CAP).
It is planned that 70 three-day training sessions will be held by April next year for personnel deployed in combat areas.
The trainings will focus on gaining theoretical knowledge and practical skills in providing first aid to both themselves and their colleagues in combat conditions, in accordance with international standards and protocols.
The training participants will also work on overcoming negative mental states and mastering emotional and volitional mobilisation techniques. In addition, individual psychological counselling will be provided for servicemen who need it.
This NATO project meets the need of the Ukrainian military for psychological training and the development of skills necessary to work in combat. The project is being implemented by the NGO Officers’ League, which has been actively providing psychological support to Ukrainian servicemen since 2014.
