The mayor of Mukachevo, Andrii Balogu, and the head of the Mukachevo district council, Mykhailo Lan, known by the nickname “Blyuk”, were detained by the SBU and NABU. Law enforcement officers exposed a scheme of corrupt sale of community property.

The detention of Baloga and Lanya is related to the corruption scheme of selling the Avangard stadium in the city of Mukachevo. According to preliminary estimates, losses from the sale of the sports facility and almost 3 hectares of land amount to about 100 million hryvnias.
The day before, representatives of law enforcement agencies also detained the head of the land department of the Mukachiv city council, Artur Samilyak.
In October 2023, the Security Service of Ukraine and the National Anti-Corruption Bureau already searched the suspects in this case. However, no official was detained at that time.
