Almost 10,000 Ukrainians received affordable housing loans: who is entitled to a discount
About 10,000 Ukrainians have already received housing loans with low interest rates as part of the “eOselya” program. 16 billion hryvnias were allocated for this from the state budget. Available loans at 3 or 7% per annum are in the greatest demand in Kyiv and the Kyiv region.
“This program performs not only a social function, helping Ukrainians to purchase housing on affordable terms, through it we also invest in the development of housing construction and related industries. 30% of the loans taken by Ukrainians were for the purchase of housing for the first sale – ready from the developer or such, that is being built. Due to the increase in demand for housing in the primary market, we support Ukrainian manufacturers who build, manufacture construction materials, and create new jobs,” the Minister of Economy noted. Yulia Svyridenko.
Only last week, 229 preferential housing loans were issued. Most of the loans (168) were taken by citizens to purchase apartments or houses on the secondary market. In particular, 111 military and security forces received loans at 3%. Also, loans with this annual rate were granted to 17 teachers, 12 doctors and 6 scientists. 64 Ukrainians without their own homes (4 displaced persons and 15 veterans) received loans at 7%.
Currently, affordable mortgages are provided for representatives of certain professions and citizens who do not own a home or want to improve its conditions. For servicemen of the Armed Forces under contract, teachers, doctors and scientists, the preferential rate is 3% per annum. For other categories – combatants, veterans, IDPs, other citizens, the annual loan rate is 7%.
