On May 26, in Pyatikhatki, Dnipropetrovsk region, an unknown person attacked the mayor of the city, Galil Isaev, and stabbed him. After the incident, the attacker fled and is being sought by law enforcement officers. The attack was reported by the Dnipropetrovsk region police.
According to police, the incident occurred at around 10:40. An unknown man attacked the official and stabbed him with a knife. The mayor was hospitalized with injuries. He is currently under the supervision of doctors and is receiving the necessary medical care.
After the attack, the attacker left the scene. The police are establishing his whereabouts and taking measures to detain him.
In the fact of the attack, investigators have opened criminal proceedings under the articles on attempted murder – Part 2 of Article 15 and Part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Law enforcement officers are investigating all the circumstances of the incident, including the motives of the attack and the identity of the attacker.
