ARMA found UAH 1.4 billion stolen during road repairs on the accounts of the contractor company

Agency for Search and Asset Management (ARMA) revealed UAH 1.4 billion in the accounts of the contractor company, which were involved in a large-scale embezzlement scheme of budget funds.

According to the investigation, the officials together with the owners of private enterprises organized an illegal scheme. As part of the contract concluded in May 2020, they purchased construction materials from their own controlled companies at inflated prices.

ARMA employees, using specialized tools and access to databases, searched for assets of legal entities involved in this scheme. As a result, 1.4 billion UAH were found in the accounts of banking institutions, 115 units of special equipment, 80 vehicles, shares in the authorized capital in the amount of 788,000 UAH. UAH, as well as real estate objects, land plots and property rights of intellectual property.

“Information about the discovered assets has already been transferred to the law enforcement agency. At the same time, I would like to note that ARMA is ready to ensure revenues to the budget due to the effective management of these assets in the event of their seizure and transfer to the National Agency.” – reported ARMA Deputy Chairman Pavlo Velikorechanin.

These measures are aimed at bringing the perpetrators to legal and economic responsibility, which is important to prevent the recurrence of such offenses. Given the strategic importance of road construction for military logistics, this issue takes on special importance in the context of national security.
