Armaments worth 150 million pounds will be provided by Great Britain: what will the military receive

The British authorities have announced the decision to provide the third defense package for Ukraine since the beginning of 2024. Previously, the country directed aid to provide the army with artillery shells and drones. In the current aid package, in addition to drones, there will be electronic warfare systems, boats, etc.

The provision of arms worth 150 million pounds was announced by the Minister of Defense of Great Britain, Grant Shapps. In his opinion, the new package will help protect Ukraine’s infrastructure from enemy attacks.

In particular, £70 million will go towards air defense radars, decoys and electronic warfare (EW) systems. The UK and allies will also provide £80m for small boats, reconnaissance drones and unmanned surface ships.

The weapons will be transferred as part of the work of the International Fund for the Defense of Ukraine. The armed forces have already received £900 million in aid from the fund. Great Britain remains the largest donor, having transferred weapons worth more than 500 million pounds. Aid through the fund is also provided by Denmark and Estonia. Finland and Germany.

“The International Defense Fund for Ukraine is providing vital support to the country’s army to meet its urgent needs. The new aid package includes more air defense systems to protect the Ukrainian civilian population and infrastructure, as well as new equipment to strengthen Ukraine’s naval forces,” he said. Grant Shapps

It will be recalled that at the beginning of the year Great Britain allocated 245 million pounds to strengthen Ukrainian artillery. In March, the country also announced a £325m transfer of surveillance, maritime and kamikaze drones.
