Austria will allocate another 5 million euros for the restoration of energy facilities in Ukraine
Austria will make another contribution to the Energy Support Fund of Ukraine. The country will allocate 5 million euros for the restoration of energy facilities damaged as a result of shelling. This was announced by Leonore Gewessler, Minister of Climate, Environment, Mobility, Innovation and Technology of Austria.
This is the second contribution of this state to the Energy Support Fund of Ukraine. Earlier, Austria donated 10 million euros. That amount was spent on equipment for Ukrainian thermal power plants (steam turbines, backhoe loaders, drilling and crane rigs, truck lifts, etc.), as well as for operators of the distribution and transmission of electric energy in the Kharkiv, Sumy, and Kherson regions.
“In conditions when the enemy is constantly trying to deprive Ukraine of electricity, it is important to feel reliable support from our partners. Austria is one of those countries that provides us with constant assistance. Thank you for that,” says the Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko.
The Energy Support Fund of Ukraine was founded two years ago at the initiative of Minister Herman Galushchenko and European Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson. During this time, thanks to the charitable contributions of various countries, it was possible to collect almost 440 million euros for the restoration of the energy system of Ukraine.
We will remind, in the first quarter of 2024 Ukraine has increased gas production and oil reserves.
