Bodies of 909 fallen defenders returned to Ukraine

Ukraine returned the bodies of 909 defenders who died on the front line. They fought on eight fronts. About this informs the press service of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.
Among the dead are soldiers who defended the country in the most tense areas: Kurakhiv, Pokrovsky, Bakhmut, Vugledar, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhya, Sumy and Kharkiv directions. Bodies that were previously in morgues in the territory of the Russian Federation were also returned.
The headquarters emphasized that the return of the fallen was made possible thanks to the coordinated work of the Coordination Headquarters, the Joint Center under the SBU, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Office of the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, the Secretariat of the Commissioner for Missing Persons, the State Emergency Service and other structures that are part of the security and defense sector.
Ukraine regularly exchanges the bodies of fallen soldiers with Russia, although the process is often delayed by the occupiers, including for fallen soldiers. The last time the bodies of 909 Ukrainian defenders were returned in mid-April. The same number of dead was returned on March 28 as part of repatriation procedures. Over the past four months, Russia has handed over twice as many dead bodies to Ukraine as during the entire previous period of full-scale war.
