Donald Tusk named the country that would benefit the most from the war in the Middle East

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk made a statement on the war in the Middle East, highlighting the economic and political consequences of the conflict for the region and Europe.

Tusk noted that the main beneficiary of the war in the Middle East is Russia. According to him, instability in energy markets leads to a jump in oil prices, which affects the global economy.

He also stressed that due to the oil shortage, the US may be forced to ease or even lift sanctions against Russian oil, which further emphasizes Moscow’s strategic benefit from instability.

Rhetorically asking “Who is the real winner here?”, the prime minister pointed to Russia’s economic and political advantage due to the chaos and rising energy prices caused by the war in the Middle East.

Tusk’s statement came against the backdrop of an aggravation of the situation in the region. The Polish Foreign Ministry in January 2026 recommended that citizens refrain from traveling to Iran due to the high level of danger and instability.

Earlier, Tusk called on Poles to urgently leave the territory of Iran, warning that in the event of further escalation of hostilities, diplomatic channels and opportunities for safe evacuation could be lost.
