Employees of the TCC rudely detained a man in Chernivtsi: the ombudsman’s reaction appeared

Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets called on the heads of the National Police and the State Bureau of Investigation to conduct an investigation into the violation of human rights and freedoms by Chernivtsi police officers.  A video of a rough arrest of a man appeared on the Internet. Lubinets noted that a citizen appealed to him because of the illegal actions of the patrol police officers of the city of Chernivtsi. The applicant stated that the police illegally detained him, beat him, and then took him to the Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support. In addition, the man complained that the police officers did not contribute to ensuring his legal right to assistance.

At the same time, the human rights commissioner published a video on which, according to preliminary data, a violation was recorded. The footage shows how the man is thrown to the ground, shackled on his hands and put in a company car.

“At the same time, the man did not offer any resistance to the police officers, but tried to find out the reasons for his detention,” added Lubinets.

It is worth noting that on July 4, a conflict occurred in the village of Vorokhta, Ivano-Frankivsk region, with the participation of local residents and employees of the TCC. The mass media, referring to the statement of the deputy of the Vorokhtyan settlement council, Oleg Moldavchuk, claimed that local residents blocked the road due to dissatisfaction with the work of the local TCC. His employees set up a roadblock at the entrance to the city and checked the documents of tourists. People said that vacationers refuse to go to Vorokhta because of the activities of the Military Commissariat.
