On the night of January 12, Kyiv was attacked by Russia, city mayor Vitaliy Klitschko reported at a morning media briefing. A fire broke out in the Solomianskyi district after a Shahed drone hit a non-residential building, which has already been contained.
According to Klitschko, the wreckage of another UAV fell next to a residential building in the same area.
“The blast wave broke out windows and a fire broke out. All services are working on the spot”, – the mayor noted.
The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine specified that during the night the enemy used 156 attack drones of Shahed, Gerber and other types. Most of the attacking devices, 135 of them, were destroyed or suppressed by air defense forces.
“16 attack UAVs were recorded hitting 11 locations, as well as the fall of downed ones (fragments) at two locations”, – reported in the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
