Gizo Uglava was dismissed from the position of first deputy director of NABU

Director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) Semen Krivonos decided to fire his first deputy Gizo Uglava due to his disciplinary offense. About this reported NABU press office.

According to official information, Uhlava was dismissed for violating the Oath of a civil servant, the rules of ethical behavior, as well as the Law of Ukraine “On Civil Service” and the Code of Ethics of the NABU employee.

The official investigation and the NABU disciplinary commission established that Uglava committed actions and statements aimed at discrediting one of the bureau’s employees, who reported on the possible facts of information leakage. Such actions of the deputy director created an atmosphere of fear among NABU employees, which could lead to negative consequences for whistleblowers, which is a serious violation of the standards of ethics and integrity, which should be in the first place in the work of the anti-corruption body.

This incident became part of the investigation, which included searches of the former head of the Dnipropetrovsk regional military administration Valentyn Reznichenko and other persons involved.

Earlier it became known about possible leaks of information from NABU in this case, which led to searches of NABU detective Valery Polyuga and detective Birkadze. Journalists of Bihus.info suggested that it was Gizo Uhlava who could have been involved in the data leak, which ultimately led to his removal from office
