Government presents a roadmap for reopening Ukrainian airports in times of war

Ukraine presented a plan for the gradual opening of airspace under martial law, which was presented at an event in Warsaw. About this informs Ministry of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine.

According to the press service, the event brought together about a hundred representatives of the aviation sector: from relevant regulators of the EU, Great Britain and the USA to the management of Ukrainian and foreign airlines, insurance and leasing companies, as well as aircraft manufacturers.

This is the first expert discussion, which we expect will help move forward in creating the conditions for opening the airspace. In times of war, it is a strategic task for us to maintain aviation infrastructure and skilled personnel so that when the time comes we can resume civilian flights as quickly as possible“, the official said.

Mary Elizabeth Madden, Economic Counselor of the US Embassy in Ukraine, noted the support of the US in Ukraine’s desire to restore civil aviation and provide the necessary expert and technical assistance.
