In Cherkasy, an armed man wanted to take CCC employees hostage

On August 5, in Cherkasy, on the morning of August 5, a man armed with a grenade and a pistol tried to take hostages of TCC employees during the inspection of his documents. About this informs press service of the Cherkasy regional TCC.

“This morning, during the implementation of alert measures in the city of Cherkasy on Khimikiv Avenue, servicemen of the Cherkasy RTCC and SP stopped a person for the purpose of checking credentials. During a short conversation, the man took out a grenade and pulled out a check.”, — the TCC noted.

The intruder began threatening to blow himself up and tried to take the servicemen hostage. Law enforcement officers promptly arrived at the scene. Currently, representatives of law enforcement agencies are working with the man. According to local media, he was later detained by police officers.

“Law enforcement agencies will provide a proper legal assessment of the citizen’s actions”, — added the Cherkasy Regional TCC.

It will be recalled that on August 4, two civilian cars blocked the transport of the TCC, which was on its way to the training center with a conscript, on the bypass road of Rivne. As a result of the incident, a traffic accident occurred. Also in the Mykolaiv region, a group of people with bats and metal pipes attacked the military police officers, injuring one of them and damaging an official car.
