In Khmelnytskyi, the police detained the alleged murderer Andrii Parubiy

In Khmelnytskyi region, law enforcement officers detained the alleged murderer of People’s Deputy Andrii Parubiy, who was shot on August 30 in Lviv. reported this by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

“The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko and the head of the Security Service of Ukraine Vasyl Malyuk have just reported on the arrest of the suspect in the murder of Andrii Parubiy, the message says.

Zelensky noted that the necessary investigative actions are currently underway. After the report of Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko, the president announced that the suspect had already given his first statement.

“After 24 hours after the murder, they were already on the direct track of the shooter, and after 36 hours, he was arrested. More details will come later from the police, – said Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko.

He also emphasized that the crime was carefully planned: the routine of the deceased’s movements was studied, a route was laid out and an escape plan was thought out. Klymenko noted that the employees of the SBU and the police demonstrated high professionalism, because already 24 hours after the murder, they were on the direct trail of the alleged shooter, and after another 12 hours, that is, on the 36th, they detained him.

We would like to remind you that on August 30 in Lviv around noon, an incumbent People’s Deputy from the EU opposition party, former Secretary of the National Security Council and Speaker of the Parliament Andriy Parubiy was shot dead.

Kieler ambushed him in the city center on Efremov Street, when the politician was heading to a nearby gym. From the videos leaked online, it is known that the attacker was wearing a delivery service suit, approached from behind and opened fire. Seven shell casings were found at the scene. Andriy Parubiy was 54 years old.

On September 1 in Lviv at 7:00 p.m., a parastas – funeral service will be held in St. George’s Cathedral. On the same day, at 6:30 p.m. in Kyiv, an evening in memory of Andrii Parubiy is planned on Maidan Nezalezhnosti.

The funeral will take place on September 2: at 12:00 p.m. in St. George’s Cathedral, the funeral rite will begin, and at 1:30 p.m. a city-wide farewell ceremony will be held on Rynok Square. After that, Andriy Parubiy will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.
