In Lviv, a military CCC officer was fatally stabbed in the neck during a document check

On April 2, a serviceman of the RTCC and SP died in Lviv during a document check. This was reported by the head of the Lviv OVA Maksym Kozytsky and the National Police.

According to police, the attack occurred at around 2:15 p.m. on Patona Street. During the alert, an unknown person stabbed the serviceman of the RTCC in the neck and fled. Medics tried to save the wounded man, but he died from his injuries in the hospital.

Currently, law enforcement officers are conducting a special operation and searching for the attacker. Investigators have opened criminal proceedings under Part 8, Part 2, Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – premeditated murder. The sanction of the article provides for ten to fifteen years of imprisonment or life imprisonment.

This is not the first such case in Lviv. In December 2025, military CCC and ATO veteran Yuriy Bondarenko was killed in the city. According to the investigation, a 30-year-old man wounded him with a knife during a document check, and also used a gas canister. The wounded soldier died in hospital.

After the attack, the suspect was detained. He stated that during the incident, the CCC employees beat him, and the police who were nearby did not intervene. The CCC, in turn, noted that the actions of the alert group were recorded by video recorders, they took place within the scope of their official powers and with the participation of law enforcement officers. The court chose a preventive measure for the suspect in the form of detention without the right to bail.
