In the Dnipropetrovsk region, law enforcement officers used weapons against a man who injured 5 people with a knife and committed arson. As a result of the shooting, the attacker died, reports the press service of the National Police.
According to the police, the incident happened on Sunday, August 24, around 4:00 p.m. on a field in Karpivska hromada. A local resident wounded two women with a knife, and then set fire to hay. The fire began to spread and posed a threat to people’s lives.
When the rescuers arrived at the scene, the man rushed at them with a knife. One rescuer was stabbed, the other was injured. Employees of police department No. 6 of the Kryvyi Rih district administration came to the call and caught the man during an attack on his own father, whom he also stabbed.
The violator did not respond to the lawful demands of the police, resisted and tried to attack the law enforcement officers. One of them fired warning shots into the air, and later had to open fire on the attacker. A 42-year-old man died from his injuries. Currently, an official investigation has been appointed, and the State Bureau of Investigation has been informed about the incident.
