Law enforcers expose a network of telegram channels that contributed to disruption of mobilisation
The Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police detained 19 administrators and active members of Telegram channels, which organized information campaigns aimed at disrupting mobilization and disclosed sensitive data about military movements. About this reported SBU press office.
In particular, the suspects spread provocative streams and fake news aimed at discrediting the Ukrainian military and representatives of the TCC. The most active activity was recorded in Khmelnytskyi region, where 14 people called on conscripts to evade mobilization, spreading details of the location of the military and police.
The law enforcement officers also exposed four Kyivans who published the geolocations of mobile checkpoints in the Kyiv region in Telegram chats. To avoid exposure, participants used anonymous accounts with fictitious names.
In addition, the trial of a 30-year-old evader is planned in the Vinnytsia region, who, in addition to hiding from the draft himself, also actively campaigned for others in his Telegram channel.
On the basis of the collected evidence, suspicions have already been raised against the five persons involved under the article on obstructing the activities of the Armed Forces and other military formations (Part 1 of Article 114-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). Other participants are expected to face similar charges. The maximum penalty for these actions is up to 8 years of imprisonment.
