More than 76 million hryvnias are allocated to March payments under the “Shelter” program

Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine reported on the allocation of over 76 million hryvnias for the payment of compensation to homeowners who accommodated internally displaced persons free of charge in March. The funds will be transferred within the framework of the “Shelter” program, which operates to support citizens who lost their homes due to the war.

From the beginning of 2024, compensations are financed by the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) in accordance with the agreement with the Ministry of Reintegration.

In addition, the Ministry of Reintegration has already submitted to the UNHCR the data for payments for April in the amount of over UAH 70 million, which will be received by almost 64,000 people who provided IDPs with temporary housing.

Recently, the third phase of “Hansen’s Town” was opened in the Kyiv region for IDPs who lost their homes due to the war. The residential complex is designed for 421 families, currently 217 families live there (894 people, including 352 children). The project was founded and financed by the American businessman and philanthropist Dell Loy Hansen.

Also, during the meeting of the Coordination Staff on IDPs, issues of ensuring the rights of internally displaced persons were discussed, in particular, access to social services and medical care.
