More than 9 million hryvnias were deposited for SBU General Ilya Vityuk
For the former head of the cyber security department, the Security Service of Ukraine posted a bail of over 9 million hryvnias. This was reported by VAX spokeswoman Olesya Chemerys. She did not name names, but according to the publication “Suspilne”, it is about General Ilya Vityuk.
We would like to remind you that on September 2 NABU and SAP informed Ilya Vityuk, General of the SBU and former head of the Department of Cyber Protection, of suspicion of illegal enrichment and unreliable declaration.
The investigation established that in 2023 he bought an apartment in Kyiv for almost 22 million hryvnias, but in the documents he stated the amount of 12.8 million. According to NABU and SAP, Vytyuk resorted to this scheme because he could not confirm the legality of the origin of the funds.
The general himself calls the suspicion groundless. According to him, the apartment was really purchased for 12.8 million, and his wife, an entrepreneur, earned this money legally. Despite the explanation, the High Anti-Corruption Court granted him bail in the amount of 9 million hryvnias.
SBU publicly defended him. The department said that Vityuk’s suspicion is revenge for the fact that the Security Service “effectively counters Russian influence” at NABU and in July accused two bureau detectives of cooperation with the Russian Federation.
