Over 70 men illegally registered as “teachers” to obtain armor: criminal scheme exposed in Kharkiv
In Kharkiv, law enforcement officers exposed the heads of a private educational enterprise who organized a large-scale scheme of fictitious employment of more than 70 conscripted men from different regions of Ukraine in order to illegally obtain a deferral from mobilization. This was reported by the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office on February 20.
At different times, it was coordinated by two directors of the enterprise. For a reward, they registered men for teaching positions during their leadership, after which the relevant documents were submitted to the territorial recruitment centers for registration and deferment from conscription, prosecutors note.
To mask the activity, they involved an acquaintance who performed the functions of an “accountant” and kept financial documentation, creating the appearance of legal work. In fact, the employment was formal: the “employees” did not show up for work and did not perform any duties.
Law enforcement officers conducted searches in Kharkiv, Kyiv, Lviv, and Rivne regions at the places of residence of the organizers and so-called “employees”.
The three defendants were charged with obstructing the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations during a special period, committed by a group of persons in a prior conspiracy (Part 2 of Article 28, Part 1 of Article 114-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The court chose detention as a preventive measure for the suspects.
