People with bats and metal pipes attacked CCC servicemen in Mykolaiv region
In the village of Buzke, Mykolaiv Oblast, during an alert, civilians attacked servicemen of the territorial recruitment center. The attackers, armed with bats and metal pipes, damaged an official vehicle and also injured one of the soldiers. About this reported in the Mykolaiv regional TCC and SP.
“As of 2:00 p.m., it is known that civilians armed with bats and metal pipes damaged motor vehicles and injured a soldier from the alert group. For the purpose of self-defense, this serviceman fired a shot from a device for firing non-lethal bullets (trauma pistol), registered in accordance with the current legislation. According to preliminary information, there are casualties among servicemen of the TCC and SP, and from the civilian side, law enforcement officers are working on the spot.”, says the message.
In the territorial recruitment center, it was emphasized that humiliation of honor and dignity, threats of murder, use of force or destruction or damage to the property of servicemen participating in measures to ensure national security and defense, as well as their relatives, are punishable by restriction of freedom for a period of three to five years.
In cases of beating or causing bodily harm, a more severe punishment is provided – up to 12 years of imprisonment. Also, similar actions can be classified as a crime under Article 114-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — “Obstructing the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.”
