Profit of UAH 12.8 billion: PrivatBank strengthened its leadership in the financial market of Ukraine

For the first three months of 2026, PrivatBank came out with results that make the bank’s quarterly report one of the most notable financial news of the beginning of 2026. Pre-tax profit reached UAH 25.9 billion, exceeding last year’s figure by 17%, and after all calculations, net profit amounted to UAH 12.8 billion.
These figures show the scale of the bank, which simultaneously earns, lends, holds millions of client transactions and remains one of the largest sources of tax revenues in the financial sector.
The most high-profile amount in this report is UAH 44.1 billion, which the bank paid for the first quarter. The main part of this amount, UAH 42.1 billion, fell on income tax for the fourth quarter of 2025. For the banking market, this figure has a special weight, since it shows not only the amount of earnings, but also what part of the financial result the state institution returns to the budget.
The quarterly figures show that clients have not reduced their activity in the bank, despite war risks, income instability and the burden on business. The amount of funds in accounts increased by 19% compared to the same period last year, the number of active users of Privat24 increased by 2%, and the number of business clients increased by 4%. Such data is important not as a decoration of the report, but as an indicator that the bank retains its daily role in payments, transfers, settlements of entrepreneurs and financial transactions of households.
PrivatBank’s net loan portfolio reached UAH 170 billion, and this figure looks especially noticeable against the background of the economy’s needs for financing. The portfolio grew by 44% over the year, and by 8.8% since the beginning of 2026. Most of the credit resources were directed to the energy sector, the defense-industrial complex, manufacturing, the agricultural sector and logistics, that is, to industries where a lack of money quickly turns into problems with supply, restoration, production or order fulfillment.
The bank explains the quarterly result by operational stability and the growth of PrivatBank’s role as a financial partner of the state and business. Deputy Chairman of the Board for Finance Larisa Chernyshova emphasized that the bank operates in conditions of long-term challenges for the economy, but continues to strengthen its market position and support strategic directions – from energy to the defense industry.
A separate section of the report concerns the bank’s work during energy attacks. PrivatBank branches worked as POWERBANKING network points so that clients could receive basic services even during periods of power supply problems. In the first quarter, the bank also updated its Accessibility Strategy, created an Inclusive Service Service, and opened a special hotline for military personnel, veterans, and people with disabilities.
PrivatBank allocated more than UAH 130 million to charitable initiatives in the fields of education, medicine, and defense. Against the backdrop of tens of billions in profit and taxes, this amount looks smaller, but it shows another direction of the bank’s quarterly work — participation in projects that go beyond standard customer service.
