The opendatabase made public The index of the best enterprises of Ukraine for 2025, which reflected the incredible scale of profits and impressed with figures that demonstrate the strength of Ukrainian business even in war conditions.
The energy sector earned the most, its income amounted to an impressive 876.9 billion UAH, which is 21% of the total income of all industries. These figures indicate the dominance of the energy sector in the structure of the national economy.
The second largest profit was the wholesale trade sector, which brought in UAH 567.7 billion in 2024. The retail trade sector was not far behind with a result of UAH 529.2 billion. Together, these two industries generated more than a trillion hryvnias, which emphasizes the importance of trade for the country’s economy.
Kyiv became the leader among regions in terms of total revenues, where business earned a record 2.6 trillion UAH. This is almost half of all income received in Ukraine. The figures demonstrate the powerful economic center of the capital, which retains a key role in the financial life of the state.
Dnipropetrovsk region took second place with revenues of UAH 653 billion. This region is traditionally one of the industrial centers of the country, which is confirmed by these figures. The three leaders are rounded off by the Kyiv region (excluding the capital), which recorded UAH 208.3 billion in revenue.
The scale of influence of individual industries on the economy is also surprising. Eight of the ten largest companies in the country belong to the energy sector. This testifies not only to the importance of energy for the country’s stability, but also to the need for strategic development of this industry in the future.
No less impressive figures refer to regional influence. Business revenues in the capital are 4 times higher than those of the second largest region, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. This highlights the challenges for regional development and the need for a balanced economic policy.
So, despite the loss and difficulties, Ukrainian business demonstrates the ability to recover and grow.
