Russia strikes Kharkiv region with new S-8000 cruise missiles

On June 3, the Russian army struck the Kharkiv region twice in a day with new S-8000 cruise missiles, known as the “Banderol”. The carrier of this weapon is the “Orion” drone. This was reported by the head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Kharkiv region Petro Tokar.

According to him, the “Banderol” is one of the newest means of destruction used by the Russian army. At the same time, this is not the first time that the Kharkiv region has become the target of attacks using these missiles.

“These are actually isolated uses in Ukraine,” Tokar emphasized.

According to the Main Intelligence Directorate, in the future the Mi-28N attack helicopter may also become the carrier of the missile. The length of the S-8000 is about five meters, the wingspan is 2.2 meters, and the diameter of the hull is 30 centimeters.

The missile’s flight range reaches 500 kilometers, and the maximum speed is from 620 to 650 kilometers per hour.

The GUR also reported that Russia is capable of using up to 100 ballistic missiles against Ukraine every month.
