Russia strikes Kramatorsk, Sloviansk and Sumy

In the evening of June 21, the Russian Federation shelled several cities in the east and northeast of Ukraine. Kramatorsk and Slovyansk in Donetsk region, as well as the Zarechny district of the city of Sumy, were under fire. Currently, it is known that as a result of the attacks, at least one person was killed, several people were injured, and the destruction of residential and industrial facilities was recorded.

As reported Oleksandr Goncharenko, head of the Kramatorsk City Military Administration, the city suffered at least seven strikes in the evening. Shelling was conducted both on the industrial zone and on residential buildings. One of the shells hit a multi-story building. The exact type of weapon used is still being determined. Rescue and emergency services are working on the ground.

According to Honcharenko, the explosions started after 10:00 p.m. and lasted for about half an hour. As of 00:12, according to the information of the head of the Donetsk regional military administration, Vadym Filashkin, one person was injured, and there are also assumptions that one more person may be under the rubble. Search and rescue operations are ongoing.

For information the head of the Donetsk OVA, Russian shelling was also recorded in Sloviansk in the evening. As a result of the impact, a 17-year-old boy died, three more people were injured. At least 32 private houses, four high-rise buildings, two administrative buildings, a production facility and three cars were destroyed.

The Sumy region also came under Russian attack. Around 11:00 p.m., explosions rang out in Sumy. As reported Oleg Hrygorov, head of the Sumy OVA, previously talked about a rocket attack on the city’s Zarychny district. Private houses on the outskirts were damaged. Information on possible victims or injured is being clarified.
