The Security Service of Ukraine reported that since the beginning of 2026, 81 people have been suspected. Among them are 20 SBU employees who are linked to actions against the state. This was reported by the SBU press service.
According to law enforcement officials, among those detained are Russian “moles” who spied for Russia, as well as participants in illegal and fraudulent schemes.
The SBU also emphasized that the Internal Security Department pays special attention to combating corruption within the Service. The acting head of the SBU is responsible for this area of work. Head of the SBU, Major General Yevheniy Khmara.
“Self-cleaning of the SBU and other units of the Defense Forces is one of my main priorities. The success of the combat work of our comrades at the front and the preservation of the security situation within the state, and therefore the stability of all of Ukraine, depends on this direction,” Khmara said.
In March, law enforcement officers detained two deputy heads of regional departments of the SBU and an intermediary who were trying to organize an illegal scheme related to amber in the Rivne region. They were informed of the suspicion.
In addition, the Security Service exposed three SBU employees who were engaged in illegal activities in Vinnytsia, Volyn and Lviv regions.
The SBU also reported suspicions to a number of Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers in the North-Eastern Ukraine. In particular, they produced and distributed fake IDs of Ukrainian law enforcement agencies, including the SBU. Other detained servicemen blew up a service van near the SBU infrastructure.
