Since the beginning of martial law, the bodies of about 50 men have been found in Tysa: the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine

Since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, about 50 men have died trying to illegally cross the border via the Tisza River. About this reported spokesman of the State Border Service of Ukraine Andrii Demchenko.

“There are still desperate people who choose for themselves the border line that runs along rivers, in order to try to cross the border by swimming, in particular mountain rivers, which are the most dangerous for people’s lives and health. For example, the Tisza river, unfortunately , already took about 50 lives of people who illegally tried to cross the border in this particular area during the martial law., he noted.

According to Demchenko, border guards record attempts to violate the border every day, but such cases have decreased since the beginning of winter.

“Every day, border teams and operational groups detain violators and track those who are still on the approaches to the state border for illegal crossing. Schemes, organizers, guides are exposed that promise people assistance in illegally crossing the border.

But starting from July, there is a tendency to decrease such attempts. Now this is helped by the weather conditions, because the drop in temperature and snow do not allow even reaching the border line without obstacles. After all, border guards have repeatedly discovered people with hypothermia who chose such dangerous journeys in order to cross the border illegally.” – emphasized the spokesman of the DPSU.
