The Armed Forces of Ukraine received long-range weapons purchased at the expense of Lithuania
The armed forces of Ukraine received modern long-range weapons thanks to the financial support of the Republic of Lithuania. This weapon is already effectively used at the front. These are high-precision weapons manufactured in Ukraine, the effectiveness of which has been proven during hostilities. About this informs press service of the Ministry of Defense.
“Help from Lithuania is not only real support for Ukrainian soldiers, but also an investment in the strength, independence and stability of Ukraine. Such steps allow us to strengthen our own defense capabilities already today.” – stressed the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umyerov.
In December 2024, the Ministry of National Defense of Lithuania provided funding in the amount of 10 million euros. The funds became part of the first tranche of assistance provided for by the Memorandum of Understanding on the creation of a mechanism to support the Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine through investments in the Ukrainian defense industry.
“Ukraine’s struggle for self-defense is also a defense of freedom for Europe, and Lithuania’s support will last as long as it takes for Ukraine’s victory. Our commitment remains strong, resolute and unbreakable. Lithuania will remain a steadfast ally, ready to help in every way until Ukraine achieves victory.” – said Mrs. Doville Šakaline, Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Lithuania.
Currently, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, together with Lithuanian partners, is working on the implementation of the next tranche of aid in the amount of another 10 million euros. These funds are planned to be used to further strengthen the capabilities of the Ukrainian army in the field of long-range weapons.
