The Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine has expanded the functionality of the Telegram bot StopShadowBot
The Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine announced the update of the functionality of its own Telegram bot StopShadowBot. The service has received the opportunity to accept requests regarding possible abuses during the trade in excisable goods.
As the agency notes, now users can send information via the bot not only about dubious transactions in the sale of equipment and electronics, but also about alleged violations in the field of fuel, alcohol and tobacco products. To do this, you need to add a photo, a brief description of the situation, and the address of the point of sale.
The BEB emphasized that the excisable goods market remains one of the most risky in terms of shadow schemes, and expanding the bot’s tools will allow it to receive signals about possible abuses more quickly and strengthen control over compliance with the law.
StopShadowBot was launched at the end of October 2025 as a tool to combat the illegal sale of electronics and equipment. Through it, citizens can anonymously report the sale of goods without a fiscal receipt or with forged documents.
The Director of the BEB, Oleksandr Tsyvinsky, emphasized that the creation and development of this service is part of the broader initiative “Economic Shield of Ukraine”, the launch of which was announced on October 20. The development of the bot was a logical result of roundtable discussions on countering illegal schemes in the field of equipment sales.
The updated bot is already available to users on Telegram.
