The Cabinet of Ministers approved the government’s action program for 2025 and submitted the document for consideration by the Verkhovna Rada. This was reported by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko.
“In the program, we outlined 12 priorities — security and defense, European integration, anti-corruption, welfare, support for veterans, macro-finance and reforms, business, education and science, medicine and sports, reconstruction, winter stability, culture”, Svyridenko said.
She characterized the program as a plan to solve key tasks in the specified areas:
“Strengthening the defense capability, supporting the army, increasing the own production of weapons, ensuring the protection of citizens, developing the economy and preparing for EU membership. We do all this together under the challenges of a full-scale war.
According to her, the government presented the program on August 18 to people’s deputies, international partners and representatives of think tanks. After that, a collection of proposals for finalizing the document was opened with the involvement of experts, public organizations, businesses and citizens.
On the same day, during the presentation of the government’s activity program, Minister of Finance Serhiy Marchenko noted that when forming the budget for next year, the Cabinet of Ministers assumes that the war in Ukraine will continue in 2026.
In total, the government received 683 proposals from public organizations, business associations, experts and active citizens. The largest number of appeals came to the Ministry of Economy — 184, as well as to the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development — 80. The majority of these proposals were taken into account in full or in part, and a significant number of them are already being implemented within the framework of current programs and strategies.
