The court removed the commander of the 43rd OAB from his position due to official misconduct.

The commander of the 43rd separate artillery brigade named after Hetman Taras Tryasyl, Yaroslav Lysenko, was officially suspended from his duties. The Pecherskyi District Court of Kyiv made the corresponding decision on March 19, after considering the petition of investigators from the State Bureau of Investigation. This was reported by the SBI.

The reason for this step was suspicions of systemic abuse of office. According to the judge’s decision, Lysenko will not be able to hold the position of brigade commander until at least May 11, 2026.

The investigation established that starting in September 2024, the colonel used subordinates to solve personal household issues. In particular, seven servicemen, instead of performing combat missions, were involved in construction and repair work on real estate owned by the commander and his family.

The work was carried out, in particular, in the apartments of the official’s ex-wife and daughter in the city of Cherkasy. To hide the absence of personnel at the positions, the colonel provided the higher management with unreliable information, reporting that these servicemen were allegedly on duty.

The 43rd Separate Artillery Brigade responded promptly to the incident, declaring its readiness to cooperate with law enforcement officers. Representatives of the unit emphasized that they were providing full assistance in conducting the investigation:

“All necessary materials have been provided, access to information has been ensured in accordance with the requirements of the current legislation of Ukraine” — the brigade noted.

Currently, the court’s decision can still be appealed within five days from the moment of its announcement. The full text of the court decision, which will contain all the details and the judge’s reasoning, will be made public on March 23. If Yaroslav Lysenko’s defense does not file an appeal or if it is rejected, the decision to suspend will become final.
