The DPSU explained what documents men aged 18-22 need to have to leave Ukraine
The State Border Service (SPSU) reported that in order to travel abroad, men between the ages of 18 and 22, in addition to a foreign passport, must have military registration documents in paper form or in the electronic application “Reserve+”. Andriy Demchenko, the spokesman of the DPSU, told about this on the air of the telethon .
He emphasized that at the moment, the government decree on changes regarding departure for 18-22-year-olds has not yet been made public, so it will be possible to finally confirm all the details only after its publication.
Separately, Demchenko emphasized that the new rules will not apply to civil servants and local self-government officials:
“These changes will not apply to civil servants, as stipulated in the rules for crossing the state border of Ukraine. For this category of citizens, including men aged 18 to 20 years inclusive, it is possible to cross the border only on a business trip.
The spokesperson of the DPSU noted that the border guards have the right to deny exit to an 18-22-year-old citizen if a court or other “state body” made a decision on the ban on leaving Ukraine.
Military lawyer and lawyer Taras Borovsky explained that after the official publication and entry into force of the changes for the departure of men aged 18-22, no additional decisions by the authorities will not be needed:
“In principle, we will already have a legal act on the rules for crossing the state border, which is subordinate to the law. No further changes will be required.
At the same time, Borovsky noted that the text of the resolution has not yet been published, although technically it is not difficult to do so by adding one paragraph to the rules or removing a couple of sentences. He expressed his belief that the document is still being “completed”.
We would like to remind you that on August 26, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted an updated procedure for crossing the border, which allows men aged 18 to 22 to leave Ukraine without hindrance during martial law. It is about all citizens of this age category, but the resolution itself has not yet been officially made public.
