The eighth underground school is being built in the Zaporizhzhia region, the project budget is almost UAH 17 million
The government of Ukraine allocated about 17 million hryvnias for the construction of the eighth underground school in the Zaporizhzhia region. About this reported Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhia Regional Military Administration.
The construction of the new school, which will be located in Mykhailivska hromada, will begin in the coming days. The institution will be able to accommodate up to 200 people, and training will take place in two shifts for the safety of students.
Fedorov also noted that seven underground educational institutions are already under construction in the region, in particular in Zaporizhzhia itself and other communities in the region. The first underground school in Zaporizhzhia is planned to open this fall. In general, the construction of all eight facilities should be completed by the end of the year, which will allow more than 6 thousand children to study offline in two shifts.
In addition, in 2025, it is planned to build five more underground schools for more than 4,000 students. Currently, a tender for the construction of three of them is underway, and project documentation is being developed for the other two.
“Our goal remains the same – to provide an opportunity for 60,000 children of the Zaporizhzhia region to study in safe and comfortable conditions. For this, we are creating the ecosystem “Safe Education Offline””, – noted Fedorov.
We will remind that the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has already approved the first projects of Zaporizhzhia OVA for the construction of five underground schools, for which the state can allocate up to 500 million hryvnias. In the Kharkiv region, the program for the construction of six underground schools is also actively developing, and another 16 projects are at the development stage.
