The government believes that Ukraine needs to attract 3 million people after the war to stabilize the labor market
The government believes that to stabilize the labor market, Ukraine needs to ensure a population increase of 3.1 million people within 3-5 years after the end of the war. As reported by the People’s Deputy from the “Servant of the People” party, Olha Vasylevska-Smaglyuk, the Minister of Economy Oleksiy Sobolev said this at a meeting of the Council for the Support of Entrepreneurship
At the same time, Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko said that she expects GDP growth of 2% in 2026. At the same meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Shmyhal reported that Ukraine had lost 80% of its energy supply due to the Russian invasion. At the same time, the country plans to restore 21 gigawatts of energy and create a new generation to get through the next winter no worse than the previous one.
As previously reported, about 45% of companies are currently not considering the possibility of hiring foreign workers. Another 41% theoretically allow such an option, but only 2% of respondents have practical experience in attracting foreign specialists. Another 12% are actively working in this direction.
