The Government of Ukraine will allocate 1 billion hryvnias to eliminate the consequences of shelling in frontline regions
The government will allocate 1 billion hryvnia to overcome the consequences of shelling in frontline regions. 93 communities in Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, Mykolaiv, Odessa, Kherson, Sumy, Kharkiv and Chernihiv regions will receive support. About this reportedPrime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko.
According to her, funding will be directed to five key areas: construction and arrangement of shelters, additional protection of critical equipment, emergency and rescue operations, restoration of engineering networks, and formation of fuel reserves.
Svyridenko also said that the government will conduct an audit of all state-owned enterprises, including in the energy sector. This decision was made due to the corruption scandal at Energoatom. She noted that the supervisory boards of state-owned companies have already been instructed to check the quality of work, “especially in terms of procurement.”
The Prime Minister emphasized that during a full-scale war, “any corruption is unacceptable,” and added that after exposing the energy theft scheme, the government had already taken the first steps.
“The government has already made the first decisions: a motion to dismiss two ministers, sanctions against those involved in the NABU materials, as well as the restart of Energoatom – the removal of management and the start of an audit of the company,”— Svyridenko emphasized.
She also informed about the situation in the power system, noting that restoration work on damaged facilities is ongoing:
“I am in constant contact with the regions. Repair work is ongoing 24/7 — at Ukrenergo substations and at generation facilities. We are launching additional backup power sources. We are maintaining the hourly outage schedules, but thanks to joint efforts, we are reducing their duration. I thank all power engineers for their daily work in extremely difficult conditions.”
