The Ministry of Defence is investigating a scandal involving the supply of low-quality stew for the military
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine initiated a special inspection after reports in the media about the possible supply of low-quality stew, in particular pork, to the military. Tetyana Kharchenko, strategic communications advisor of the State Rear Operator (DOT), announced this on air.
“First of all, this is an unfortunate situation with which we have to do something. Regarding these materials that were made public by journalists, as far as I know, a special inspection is currently being conducted by the Ministry of Defense and subordinate units to confirm the facts that were in the journalistic investigation.”Kharchenko noted.
She added that representatives of the DOT also went to places, talked with suppliers and subcontractors. According to the results of these checks, the alleged falsification of documents by the supplier was revealed. Kharchenko noted that the DOT is waiting for the conclusions of the commission of the Ministry of Defense in order to make further decisions on contracts with suppliers based on them.
Earlier, information appeared in the mass media that low-quality canned goods are supplied to servicemen, in particular pork stew, which contains more than 60% liquid instead of meat.
