Ukraine plans to introduce fines for improper installation of air conditioners
The size of the stipulated fine will be 1,700 hryvnias.
In Ukraine, they plan to introduce a fine for leaking condensed moisture from air conditioners. It will soon be submitted for consideration by the members of the Verkhovna Rada bill No. 4619, which has already been called the “Law on Air Conditioners”. This document has already been approved by the relevant committee of the Council.
The essence of the draft law
According to the text of the draft law, if condensate drips from air conditioners on the heads of passers-by, the owner of the device will be fined UAH 1,700. In case of repeated violation, the amount of the fine will be doubled, i.e. up to UAH 3,400. These fines will apply to both apartment owners and owners of offices, shops and other commercial premises.
How to avoid violations
In order to avoid violations and fines, it is necessary to ensure the correct drainage of condensate. Condensate formed during the operation of the air conditioner must flow into the storm or domestic sewer. This requires proper installation of air conditioners and regular maintenance to prevent condensation from escaping outside.
Who will monitor the implementation of the rules
The main inspectors of construction supervision working in the state architectural and construction inspection will control and monitor the implementation of the rules for the installation and maintenance of air conditioners. They will have the power to carry out inspections and impose fines on violators.
Why is this important?
The purpose of this draft law is not only to ensure the comfort of passers-by, but also to reduce the negative impact on buildings and infrastructure. Leakage of condensate can cause the destruction of building facades, the formation of mold and other damage, which reduces the durability of buildings and creates additional costs for repairs.
Preparation for new requirements
Owners of air conditioners are advised to check their systems for condensate leaks and take measures to eliminate them. This may include installing special pipes to drain condensate, carrying out regular maintenance and consulting with specialists on the correct operation of air conditioning systems.
In case of detection of leaks or other problems, you should immediately contact the service centers for repair work. This will not only help you avoid fines, but also ensure the efficient and safe operation of air conditioners.
Additional recommendations
Owners are also advised to consider installing air conditioners with an automatic condensate drain function, which will significantly reduce the risk of leaks. Careful planning and maintenance of air conditioning systems will help save not only money, but also nerves and ensure comfort and safety for both building residents and passers-by on the streets.
