The Ministry of Defense clarified who has the right to wear military uniforms
The Ministry of Defense explained whether civilians can wear military uniforms, as well as the difference between the popular “military style” and military uniforms. The department reported this on its website.
The Ministry of Defense noted that the list of categories of citizens who have the right to wear military uniforms was approved by Order of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine No. 606 dated November 20, 2017. This document defines the rules for wearing military uniforms and insignia for servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the State Special Transport Service, and students of military lyceums. The department emphasized that these rules have not changed.
According to the current rules, military personnel, military conscripts during the assembly, reservists, cadets and high school students, as well as persons discharged from military service to the reserve or upon retirement, if they are granted the right to wear military uniforms, may wear military uniforms.
At the same time, civilians are not included in this list, and therefore do not have the right to wear military uniforms, since they are not intended for civilians.
The Ministry of Defense also clarified that clothing made in the MM-14 “Ukrainian pixel” camouflage pattern is considered a military uniform, MM-16F “blue-gray pixel” for the Navy, as well as in other types of camouflage patterns used for special clothing during combat or special missions.
