Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko instructed the head of the National Police of Ukraine Ivan Vyhivskyi to conduct an official investigation into the actions of police officers during the terrorist attack in Kyiv on April 18. Klymenko reported this on social networks.
““To serve and protect” is not just a slogan. It must be supported by appropriate professional actions. Especially at critical moments when people’s lives depend on it,” the minister said.
He also ordered all information about this incident to be transferred to the State Bureau of Investigation. In addition, according to him, the National Police will publish the results and decisions of the internal investigation as soon as possible.
A video of a shooting on the streets of Kyiv, opened by an attacker who later locked himself in a supermarket with hostages, was shared on social networks. The released footage shows two police officers standing next to a person sitting on the street. After they heard the shots, both fled the scene and left the child to fend for themselves.
The video footage shows shots and screams, and one of the men in civilian clothes, who is running away from the shooter, falling to the ground.
