The National Bank sells gold 200 hryvnias with a unique design

The National Bank of Ukraine put up for sale a commemorative gold coin with a denomination of 200 hryvnias at a price of 79,311 hryvnias for one. It is dedicated to the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra — an outstanding architectural and historical monument of the time of Ancient Russia-Ukraine, known all over the world. Each customer is allowed to purchase no more than four coins. About this are reported in the press service of the NBU.

The coin is made of 900 gold, its pure weight is 15.5 grams. It has a smooth band. The total circulation is 20 thousand pieces, 437 coins remain in the warehouses. Each of them is sold in a special case.

The obverse of the coin depicts the Trinity Overgate Church of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra ensemble, as well as part of the main bell tower. On the right is a small State Coat of Arms of Ukraine, and below in a circle are the denomination and the inscriptions “Ukraine” and “Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra”.

The reverse of the coin is decorated with fragments of the wall painting of the Trinity Church: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit with inscriptions in Old Slavic script. Below is the image of the Mother of God, the patroness of the Zaporozhian Cossacks. IN

At the bottom, the composition is completed by a panorama of the Lavra, created on the basis of an engraving by L. Tarasevich from “Paterik Pecherskyi” of 1702. All images are combined in a circle decorated with a necklace ornament. Both sides indicate the gold grade — Au 900 — and the pure weight of the precious metal — 15.55 grams.
