The National Police eliminated a criminal group that received millions of dollars in profits from the sale of drugs
The National Police liquidated an organized group whose members received millions of dollars in profits from the sale of drugs. About this informs press service of the National Police.
“Law enforcement officers exposed a drug gang and liquidated a laboratory for the production of the narcotic drug cannabis with a monthly profit of 3,000,000 hryvnias. The perpetrators ensured the production and sale of drug products throughout Ukraine. The police conducted searches and detained 10 members of the group.” – says the message.
The organized criminal group included 10 men and women aged 20 to 33. Among them are residents of Dnipro, Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa and other settlements. Participants acted according to a well-defined scheme, following the activities of the conspiracy, and their roles were divided between organizers, suppliers, packers, sellers and other performers.
Criminals manufactured drugs in specially equipped premises on the territory of Dnipropetrovsk region. They grew hemp, processed it into finished products and sold it through online stores, through bookmarks and postal shipments to different regions of the country. Law enforcement officers documented about 30 episodes of criminal activity.
During the searches, a drug laboratory was liquidated, specialized equipment for growing cannabis, bushes of narcotic plants, packages with narcotic substances, hundreds of bookmarks with narcotic and psychotropic substances, psychotropic mushrooms, confectionery containing psychotropic substances, means of communication, draft records and cash in various currencies were seized. According to estimates, the total value of seized drugs on the black market exceeds 14 million hryvnias.
The police detained all ten members of the criminal group in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. The investigators informed them about suspicions of committing criminal offenses under ch. 2, 3 Art. 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, forwarding or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues).
The court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention for the detainees. For what they did, they face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
