Ukrainian Armed Forces warn of risk of encirclement near Pokrovske and Myrnograd
Three Ukrainian brigades defending in the Pokrovsk and Mirnograd areas of Donetsk region may find themselves surrounded due to the active advance of Russian forces in the direction of Dobropill – Rodinsky. About this reported a company commander fighting in the Pokrovsky direction.
Over the past three months, the Russian salient along the Pokrovsk-Kostyantinivka route has expanded significantly — it has turned into a narrow salient over 10 kilometers long, which now forms an eastern “claw” for possible coverage of Pokrovsk and Mirnograd. Fierce fighting has been going on in the area of the mine near Rodynskyi for several days, and the first enemy groups have already penetrated the residential area of Rodynskyi itself.
Also, Russian units are advancing towards the eastern part of the Red Liman near Rodinsky and attacking the territory of the mine between the settlements of Novoekonomichnye and Myrnograd. At the same time, the enemy is trying to get to the village of Nove Shakhove, which is located only seven kilometers from Dobropill.
Such actions indicate an attempt to cut the main supply line of Ukrainian units in the Pokrovsky direction. This road runs from Dobropill through Bilytske and Rodynske to Pokrovsk. According to estimates by DeepState analysts, Russian troops have about seven kilometers left of this road. At the same time, according to the military, as of July 29, the enemy was already detected only 1.25 kilometers from it.
At least three Ukrainian brigades are currently known to be in a difficult situation. They maintain a line of defense in the fields and forest strips on the southern approaches to Pokrovsk, as well as in the southern and eastern directions near Myrnograd, including the city itself.
