The President of Ukraine first presented the 20 points of the basic document on the end of the war

Volodymyr Zelenskyy for the first time presented a version of the 20-point document, which is to become the “basic document on the end of the war” between Ukraine, the US, Europe and the Russian Federation. According to him, Kyiv is currently awaiting the Russian side’s response to the positions under discussion.

“Then we will understand our next steps and possible timeframes for certain decisions,” the president said.

He also stated Ukraine’s readiness for negotiations with the United States at the leadership level to resolve sensitive issues.

“Things such as territorial issues should be discussed at the leadership level,” Zelensky emphasized.

The head of state emphasized that the current 20 points — this is a draft that has significantly changed during the negotiations and long preparation process, because initially the document contained 28 points.

“If we are talking specifically about these 20 points that exist today, then this is a framework document that has undergone significant evolution. This is the document that previously began with 28 points (this is about the version of the peace agreement proposed by the United States, which, according to media reports, was allegedly supported by Donald Trump, — ed.). There were many different rumors and a lot of work, meetings and many hours of conversations. As a result, today we have this document, which looks like this – it is a draft. This is a document that has not yet been agreed upon by the parties, but it already has a certain logic in it, how it is proposed to end the war,” the president added.
