The leaders spoke face-to-face for more than two and a half hours, and then held an extended meeting with the delegations. Zelensky thanked Scholz for the significant help, stressing that Germany is the leader among European countries in terms of support.
At a joint press conference, Zelenskyi emphasized that Germany provided the largest number of air defense equipment, including Patriot air defense systems, IRIS-T and Gepard anti-aircraft guns. These systems have already saved tens of thousands of lives and protected hundreds of critical infrastructure facilities.
Separately, the President of Ukraine thanked for the new military aid package worth 650 million euros, which Ukraine will receive in December. Zelenskyy emphasized that geopolitical certainty is key to Europe’s security. It provides for the resolution of important issues for every European country — joining the EU and NATO.
