The State Bureau of Investigation is conducting searches of the Deputy Chairman of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine (HCJC), who is suspected of giving false testimony in favor of ex-judge Oleksiy Tandyr. The latter fatally shot down a National Guardsman at a checkpoint in Kyiv in May 2023. About this informs DBR press office.
“Searches are being conducted with the aim of identifying evidence that may indicate the deliberate provision of false testimony in favor of the former judge of the Makariv district court of the Kyiv region. It has been established that the deputy head of the Supreme Court of Ukraine is on friendly terms with the ex-judge”, the message says.
According to preliminary data, during the interrogation in the criminal proceedings on the suspicion of the ex-suddy in committing a fatal traffic accident, the deputy head of the VKKS could deliberately give false testimony, artificially creating evidence for the defense.
The pre-trial investigation is conducted on the grounds of a criminal offense provided for in part. 2 Art. 384 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (misleading the court or other authorized body). The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of up to 5 years.
