The SBU announced the exposure of an official who worked for the FSB

Law enforcement officials announced the exposure of an official of the Security Service of Ukraine, who, according to the investigation, was passing on data about operational developments and criminal proceedings of the Ukrainian special service to the Russian FSB. This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine.

According to law enforcement officials, the Russian special services recruited the SBU employee through her father, a resident of temporarily occupied Berdyansk, who, according to the investigation, cooperates with the Russian army.

According to the investigation, he was a “liaison” and gave the woman instructions via messenger on collecting intelligence that interested the FSB. The SBU official allegedly recorded secret information on her smartphone or wrote it down on a piece of paper right at her workplace. The SBU claims that she already passed the received data to the Russian side at home.

The woman was detained. During the searches, a smartphone with evidence of her work for the Russian FSB was seized from her. SBU investigators are preparing a report on suspicion against her under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – high treason committed under martial law.

The official may face life imprisonment with confiscation of property. Also, according to the SBU, they are deciding on reporting suspicions to other people involved in this case.

After the arrest of the head of the SBU Department in the Zhytomyr region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced the “cleansing” of the Security Service “of those who serve not Ukraine, but other interests.” He instructed the First Deputy Head of the SBU, Oleksandr Poklad, to do this.
