The state helped to equip 1500 jobs for people with disabilities

Since the beginning of 2024, the state has compensated employers with more than 100 million hryvnias for arranging workplaces for 1,500 employed people with disabilities. About this reported Tetyana Berezhna, Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine.

Entrepreneurs from all regions of Ukraine received compensation, and the largest number of such employers were in the Kyiv, Cherkasy, Ivano-Frankivsk, Odesa regions and the city of Kyiv. The average amount of compensation in 2024 was 68 thousand hryvnias.

Thanks to these funds, employers have purchased a variety of equipment for adapting workplaces: tactile materials for covering floors and stairs, stair lifts and platforms for workers in wheelchairs, specialized furniture for people with back problems, computer equipment with eye protection functions, desk lamps for workers with visual impairments, as well as communication devices, telephones and headphones that are adapted for people with hearing impairments.

The compensation program is designed to support the integration of people with disabilities into the labor market and create comfortable conditions for their work, which contributes to increasing the level of employment and social inclusion.

In order to receive compensation, the employer must submit an application within 90 days of the employment of the employee with a disability. This can be done both online through the Diya portal and offline by contacting the employment center at the place of business. The application review process takes up to 10 working days. In case of a positive decision, the funds will be transferred to the employer’s account within 5 days.
